The unit includes seminars and experiential exercises (role plays) to give students an understanding of managing responses to domestic and family violence in family work, supporting the safety of vulnerable parties in family dispute resolution, and operating in a family law environment

Assessments

Assessments will include theoretical perspectives that underpin working with people affected by domestic and family violence, preparing a case analysis and safety plan for a family experiencing family violence, and creating a case file note indicating any practical steps that need to be undertaken before the commencement of the family dispute resolution process with a cultural or language group that they might work with in practice
